Déception chez les joueurs de Fortnite pour le crossover One Piece “Huge L”

Fortnite players express disappointment over One Piece crossover, labeling it a “Huge L”

The Impact of Anime Crossovers in Fortnite

The gaming and anime communities have been greatly influenced by the presence of anime crossovers in Fortnite. These collaborations not only introduce Fortnite’s audience to new anime content, but also reflect the increasing popularity of the genre worldwide.

Over time, Fortnite has expanded its crossovers to include famous anime characters and their powers. Players have spent their in-game currency, V-Bucks, on cosmetic items based on their favorite anime characters, such as Goku and All Might, and have even had the chance to experience their unique abilities.

Anticipation and Disappointment

One Piece fans had long awaited a crossover in Fortnite, but the recent collaboration to celebrate the arrival of the Netflix series did not meet their expectations. This unexpected crossover left players feeling disappointed, leading to social media posts describing it as a “Huge L”.

The One Piece x Fortnite Collaboration

The official One Piece Netflix account teased the crossover on September 9, 2023, unveiling a Creative 2.0 map that incorporates the seas and pirate ships from the anime into Fortnite.

The creation titled “ONE PIECE – STRAW HATS VS MARINES” by 3dlab allows players to either escape as a Straw Hat pirate or restore order to the sea as a Marine in a 3v3 game format. Players can utilize swords, cannons, or pistols to capture the enemy ship.

Unmet Expectations

Upon hearing the news, numerous Fortnite players expressed their disappointment. They were hoping for in-game cosmetics and a crossover event similar to previous anime collaborations in the game. Social media had been buzzing with concepts for Luffy and Roronoa Zoro skins, leading players to anticipate their release alongside the crossover.

One dissatisfied fan tweeted, “Huge L + not what we want”. Another echoed the sentiment, stating, “That’s it? That’s the One Piece Collab? THAT WAS JUST A LOUSY ANIME THEMED PIRATE MODE”.

Another fan expressed disappointment, referring to the missed opportunities of the One Piece Live Action and Ashoka Series.

Accessing the Island

While there have been no reports or rumors of any additional One Piece crossovers, Fortnite players can explore the island by entering the island code (7374-8187-1871) in-game or by saving it to their playlists through the official experience page.
