Fortnite Season OG: The OG Experience is Back
Fortnite has heard the calls of its community and brought back the Chapter 1 map, much to the delight of the fans. Many players are returning to the game to experience Fortnite Season OG all over again.
Chapter 1 came to a close in 2019, and in the time since, the game has evolved. This article aims to highlight some of the most significant changes that have taken place in Fortnite, especially for those returning players who want to get up to speed with the game once more.
Movement Improvements
Fortnite introduced sprinting, sliding, and mantling as movement mechanics in Chapter 3 Season 2, and players were worried that these features might be lost with the return to OG. However, these mechanics are still available and can be utilized by players. Mantling, sprinting, and sliding have their own set of controls, and this is how they work.
Mantling: Players can now mantle onto ledges by pressing and holding down the Jump button.
Sprinting: Sprinting can be activated by assigning the Sprint option to a key or button in the game’s settings and toggling it on and off by pressing it.
Sliding: Players can slide by pressing and holding the Crouch button while moving or sprinting.
Crossplay Changes
Crossplay has seen significant developments since its inception. Initially, players on different platforms could not access their accounts simultaneously, but this has changed. Sony now allows crossplay across all platforms, and Epic Games has even initiated an account merging program to help players manage their accounts across multiple platforms
Players are now able to use their Fortnite account on any platform, ensuring access to their locker and most of their V-Bucks. However, there are instances where V-Bucks purchased on one platform may not be available on another, making it important for players to consider their purchases carefully.
Battle Pass System
Fortnite’s Battle Pass system has been revamped over the years, and returning players may find the changes daunting. As the XP system has replaced the previous tier-based system, players now earn Battle Stars to unlock rewards by increasing their Season Level. This shift requires a strategic focus on increasing levels as opposed to completing specific quests.
Zero Build Mode
While building was a core component of Fortnite’s early success, a Zero Build game mode was introduced to cater to players who prefer a different style of play. This mode has gained popularity and is now a permanent fixture in the game, allowing players to opt-out of the building mechanics that are synonymous with Fortnite’s gameplay.
Reboot Vans
A major addition to the game has been the inclusion of Reboot Vans, which allow players to revive eliminated teammates. With the introduction of the Reboot Card, there is now an opportunity to bring back teammates who were previously unable to return to the game. However, certain conditions must be met for the rebooting process to be successful.
