World of Warcraft Classic players are in for a treat as the game is getting updated with content from the Fall of the Lich King update, originally released in 2009. This includes the highly anticipated Icecrown Citadel raid. The update, Patch 3.4.3, is set to arrive on Tuesday, October 10, with the raid launching two days later.
The Controversial Random Dungeon Finder
One of the major additions in this update is the controversial Random Dungeon Finder feature. This feature allows players to queue for dungeons based on their class and specialization, making it easier to find groups. While some players were against its inclusion in World of Warcraft Classic, as it was not present in the original version, others argued that it was added in Patch 3.3 alongside the release of the Icecrown Citadel raid in 2009.
The Icecrown Citadel Raid
The Icecrown Citadel raid will feature 12 bosses, leading up to a final battle against the formidable Arthas himself. Players will have to navigate through a series of dungeons, including the Forge of Souls, Pit of Saron, and Halls of Reflection, in order to uncover important truths about Frostmourne and the Lich King. These dungeons can be experienced through the Random Dungeon Finder and will reward players with powerful weapons and armor.
New Dungeons and the Legendary Axe
In addition to the Icecrown Citadel raid, the update will also introduce three new dungeons that were not part of the original Wrath of the Lich King expansion. These Titan-themed dungeons, called Defense Protocols Alpha, Beta, and Gamma, will provide a challenge for players looking for new content.
Furthermore, the update will bring the Collections interface from Dragonflight to WoW Classic, allowing players to manage their collections more easily. Additionally, warriors, paladins, and death knights will have the opportunity to craft the Legendary axe known as Shadowmourne, by completing a series of quests and obtaining specific items from Icecrown Citadel.
A Challenge for Raid Teams
Icecrown Citadel is regarded as one of the most iconic raids in the MMORPG genre, and it will undoubtedly test the skill and coordination of World of Warcraft Classic guilds and raid teams. The race to defeat the Lich King will be intense, and only time will tell who will emerge victorious.
World of Warcraft Classic is available now for PC.
