World of Warcraft’s Hallow’s End event is back, and this time it brings a revamped version of the Headless Horseman encounter. Players will face new challenges and abilities in their fight against the infamous equestrian, plus there’s a hard mode with better rewards.
A Blast from the Past
But that’s not all. Blizzard has added a special surprise to this year’s event: a key to the old version of the Scarlet Monastery. This key can be obtained from the Loot-filled Pumpkin reward. If you’re lucky enough to get a Scarlet Key, you can head to the monastery in Tirisfal Glades for a special treat: the four original Scarlet Monastery instances.
Return to the Scarlet Monastery
Once you have the Scarlet Key and use it, you’ll be granted an account-wide buff that allows you to enter the Armory, Cathedral, Library, and Graveyard instances. This means you’ll have another chance to obtain loot from the classic version of the dungeon, including valuable transmog gear.
An Extra Key
If you’re looking for even more loot, you can also find an additional key in the vanilla version of the Library Wing. The key can be looted from Arcanist Doan’s chest. The best part is, you can still get this key even after Hallow’s End ends on November 1st. However, it seems that you can only loot it once before it disappears. It’s unclear whether this is intentional or a bug, as Blizzard has not confirmed.
Other Options
If you don’t want to rely on luck or farming, there are other ways to obtain the Scarlet Key. You can purchase it from the Auction House or visit World of Warcraft Classic’s version of the monastery.
So gear up, prepare for battle, and don’t miss out on this opportunity to experience the revamped Headless Horseman encounter and explore the original Scarlet Monastery instances. Happy hunting!
