Scarlet and Violet’s Paldea region, the world of Pokémon, was an engaging region to explore, but it lacked the depth that Palworld offers. Palworld’s open world provides an unexplored frontier, serving as a foundation for base building and survival mechanics. This adds another layer of adventure and excitement to the game, making it far more compelling than the simple progression of capturing Pokémon in the Pokémon series.

Base building – a game changer

Palworld’s base building feature allows players to find a great location and gradually build up a base with various resources, adding an extra element of purpose to the game. This offers an immersive experience and adds hours of playtime. This feature, if implemented in a Pokémon game, could potentially enhance the gameplay and provide a new level of exploration, making the open-world gameplay more exciting and interactive.

Pals with utility

The game’s unique characters, or Pals, serve a variety of purposes within the game, such as aiding in exploration and base management. Each Pal has a specific utility, and this idea could be implemented in a Pokémon game, possibly as an extension of the HM moves concept, making the game more engaging and immersive.

Incorporating innovative mechanics

Palworld introduces a range of innovative mechanics, such as character abilities and specific items, that enhance the gameplay experience. These mechanics could be adapted to the Pokémon series in a way that could breathe new life into the franchise, generating more interest and engagement among players.

In conclusion, while Palworld is not without its flaws, it does present a myriad of ideas that could greatly benefit a future open-world Pokémon game. It remains to be seen whether Game Freak, the developer of Pokémon, will take note of the success and ingenuity of Palworld and consider incorporating similar mechanics into their own games. After all, who wouldn’t want to explore a captivating open world with their favorite Pokémon?
