Hamilton Police investigate a fatal shooting
Hamilton Police have identified the man who was killed after shots rang out at a crowded party in a short-term rental property in Millgrove on Sunday. The shooting incident occurred in the early hours of the morning along Highway #6 in Flamborough between Concessions 7 and 8.
Details of the incident
The shooting incident was a result of a disturbance that took place during a large house party at the short-term rental property. The disturbance escalated onto the highway, leading to shots being fired at a parked car on the shoulder of the highway and another car at a nearby gas station.
Unfortunately, one male victim was found in the parked car with gunshot wounds and later succumbed to his injuries in hospital. The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Tobenna Obiaga from Halton Region.
Two other individuals in the parked car at the gas station sustained non-life threatening gunshot wounds and were treated at the hospital. Another person was injured at the house party but was later released from hospital with minor injuries not related to firearms.
Investigators seeking witnesses
Witnesses at the scene reported a dark grey sedan fleeing the area after the shooting. However, no further description of the suspect is available at this time.
