Comparaison taille carte GTA 6 vs GTA 5 : fan-hype éclate !

Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) is undoubtedly a legendary game franchise that has captivated gamers for many hours. However, one common complaint about the game is its sense of scale, particularly in relation to the size of the map. While GTA V’s map is larger than many other open world games, it poses a challenge due to its modern setting with fast vehicles such as supercars and jets. Realistically, these vehicles should be able to traverse the map in a matter of seconds, given its relatively small size. However, this is not the case in the game.

The Issue of Scale

GTA V employs a significantly reduced scale for vehicle speed. Most vehicles in the game move at only half of their stated speed, so a car claiming to be going 140 MPH is actually traveling at around 70 MPH. The speed of aircraft, especially jets, is further reduced for gameplay purposes. While this is done to maintain balance in the game, it does sacrifice realism and diminishes the excitement of driving the super-fast cars available in the online mode. However, based on leaked information about GTA 6, this may no longer be a concern in the future.

GTA 6 and the Expanding Map

A substantial leak last year revealed pre-production content for GTA 6, including videos showing an early version of the game with a developer overlay enabled. Fans managed to extract valuable information from these videos, such as the coordinates of the player character. It is widely anticipated that GTA 6 will utilize an evolved version of the RAGE engine, which has been in use by Rockstar since GTA IV. Fans are familiar with the coordinate system used by this engine.

By plotting the coordinates shown in the leaked videos, fans were able to piece together a rough map of the playable area in GTA 6. According to this map, GTA 6 is expected to be significantly larger than its predecessor. The scale of the GTA 6 map, when compared to the GTA V map using the known RAGE engine units, suggests that GTA 6 may be at least twice the size of GTA V, if not even bigger.

The map created by a YouTuber provides an idea of the potential size of GTA 6. Additionally, the community has also contributed to the creation of an early map based on leaked content and extrapolation. Notably, this map indicates that there is considerable empty space to the south and east of the {0,0} location in GTA 6, which may allow for the inclusion of islands not seen in the leaked content. Given that GTA 6 is set in a Vice City analog (inspired by Miami), it is conceivable that players may have the opportunity to explore analogs of Cuba or Haiti, in addition to the main city.

Furthermore, it is possible that the map extends to the north as well. Earlier leaks regarding Rockstar’s plans for GTA 6 hinted at a much larger map, potentially featuring multiple cities the size of Los Santos from GTA V. It is not far-fetched to imagine the map expanding to the north and incorporating representations of Northern Florida cities like Orlando, known for its famous theme parks, or even places in Georgia.

However, it’s important to note that this information is based on logical deductions from verified leaks, and Rockstar’s plans may have changed since these leaks occurred. The substantial distance between the coordinates in the leaked videos could merely be a result of spreading locations far apart to facilitate simultaneous development without interference. Therefore, it remains uncertain whether the new GTA 6 map will ultimately be larger or the same size as GTA V’s open world map. Nonetheless, the possibilities for an expansive and immersive GTA 6 experience are undeniably exciting.
