Genshin Impact’s highly anticipated version 4.0 update is just around the corner, introducing the new region of Fontaine and the character of Justice. But the excitement doesn’t stop there, as developer HoYoverse has announced that version 4.1 will bring two new characters: Neuvillette and Wriothesley! Neuvillette
Neuvillette is a key figure in the nation of Fontaine, serving as the Hydro Archon’s right-hand man and the Chief Justice of the Court of Fontaine. Despite his prominent role, little is known about Neuvillette. However, it is clear that he is highly regarded by the people of Fontaine and the Melusine.
What sets Neuvillette apart is that he does not possess a Vision or a constellation, making him the first character in Genshin Impact to lack these attributes. This has led to speculation that Neuvillette may be a member of the primordial elemental dragons, known as the Seven Sovereigns, who have ruled Teyvat since ancient times. His reptilian eyes and enigmatic background further support this theory.

Wriothesley
Another important figure in Fontaine, Wriothesley holds the title of Duke and serves as the administrator of the Fortress of Meropide, an underwater prison for the nation’s criminals. Known for his seriousness and dedication to his work, Wriothesley ensures that no corruption can infiltrate his watery stronghold.
Wriothesley wields a Cryo Vision with the constellation ‘Cerberus’, a reference to the three-headed dog from Greek mythology that guards the entrance to the underworld. This constellation perfectly aligns with his role as the guardian of Fontaine’s most dangerous criminals.
Both Neuvillette and Wriothesley will make their debut in Genshin Impact version 4.1, which is set to release in late September. Before that, players can look forward to exploring the new region and playing as the sibling trio of Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet in version 4.0.
In addition to the new characters, version 4.0 also brings exciting features such as an underwater diving mechanic, a revamped party setup menu, and a multi-layered map. There’s plenty to look forward to in the world of Genshin Impact!
