Pokemon Go: Purifier Shadow Regigigas – Is it worth it?

Shadow Regigigas is the latest addition to Pokemon Go, and players are faced with an important decision. Should they purify it and convert it to its normal form, or is it better to keep it in its shadow form? This choice has a significant impact on how the Pokemon can be used in battles. While some Pokemon are better in their shadow form, others benefit more from being purified. So, is it better to purify Shadow Regigigas in Pokemon Go?

The Difference between Shadow and Normal Pokemon

When a Pokemon is purified, it undergoes changes in its stats. In Pokemon Go, all Shadow Pokemon receive a 25% boost in attack power, but they also experience a 25% loss in defense power. This makes them more aggressive but also more vulnerable. For Pokemon with already high attack power, this trade-off might be worth it. However, for those with a decent amount of attack power, losing out on defense can be detrimental.

Regigigas: A Poor Choice for Shadow Form

Unfortunately, Regigigas falls into the latter category. In Pokemon Go, a normal Regigigas has a maximum CP of 4,913, with an attack power of 253, a defense power of 189, and a stamina of 198. These stats have been adjusted for PvP battles, but they remain the same in PvE battles. Since Regigigas already boasts a high attack power, losing a significant amount of defense can be detrimental.

This is in contrast to other legendary Regi Pokemon in Pokemon Go, like Registeel or Regirock. Registeel, for example, has high defense and decent attack power, making it an ideal candidate for a shadow Pokemon. While you still need to be cautious about sacrificing too much defense, the boost from being a shadow Pokemon is worth it. However, for Regigigas, the differences can be detrimental, and it might not be worth it for every trainer.

The Better Choice: Purification

Between the two options, it is recommended to purify Regigigas in Pokemon Go, especially if you don’t already have one. Keep in mind that legendary Pokemon are rare, and it’s better to never purify them. While Giovanni, the leader of Team GO Rocket, appears every three months, standard legendary Pokemon can be found in five-star raids at least once a year. This means you have a better chance of finding a normal Regigigas in raids.

However, it’s still advisable to catch at least one shadow Regigigas and keep it in its shadow form, even if the normal version might be better overall. Shadow Pokemon have their own unique appeal and could provide an interesting challenge in battles. Ultimately, the choice comes down to personal preference and playstyle.
